Dr. Robin Meusemann

Dr. Robin Meusemann was medically trained at Melbourne University where she received honours in all four subjects. She then attended the Royal Melbourne Hospital clinical school and completed her fellowship.

Dr. Meusemann was a finalist in the Leonard Mitchell Ophthalmology prize examination at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and received a Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists prize examination and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

In 1998, Robin completed an internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and was Junior Hospital Medical Officer in 1994 at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In 1995 Robin was the senior tutor at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the department of anatomy and cell biology. In 1996 she became the Senior Hospital Medical Officer at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where she entered the training program at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in 1997 as a first-year registrar. From 1998-1999 Robin was the registrar at Geelong Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the Royal Children's Hospital. In 2000, Robin was the senior ophthalmologist registrar at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. While holding this position, she was involved in the running of the February/March Part II RACO fellowship examinations and the RACO committee discussing the revision of the part 1 examination.

Surgical Operations

Dr. Robin Meusemann is a general ophthalmologist treating both adult and paediatric patients. Her main interests are cataract surgery (particularly toric lenses for correction of astigmatism), and anterior segment pathology. She also performs aviation medial ophthalmic examinations, intra-viteral injections for Macular Degeneration and injections for blepharospasm.

Dr. Meusemann consults at North West Eye Specialists and is a sessional ophthalmologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. It should be noted that she operates privately at:

Victoria Parade Surgical Centre (East Melbourne)

Cabrini Hospital (Malvern)

and publicly at:

Sandringham Hospital (Sandringham)

Dr. Meusemann also works in the public outpatient’s clinic at the Alfred Hospital.

Dr. Robin Meusemann is married with 2 children. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, pianoforte, pipe organ/electronic organ, travelling, photography, and skiing.
